Obituary of Jimmy Leon Barber
On November 27, 2021, Jimmy Leon Barber passed away at UCSF Medical Center after a short illness. Jim was born on October 4, 1946, in Marysville, California. Jim graduated from Marysville High School in 1965. After high school he joined the US Navy and served for 5 years. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Jim worked for State of California programming Law Enforcement Radios. He retired from the State of California in 2008 after 30 years of service. He is survived by his son Chris Barber; grandson Hayden Wellemeyer; granddaughter Hayley Wellemeyer; his brother Johnny Barber and his sister Judy Schnarr, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Linda Barber, daughter, Lori Wellemeyer; his grandson Drew Wellemeyer; and his parents, Leonard and Lorena Barber. Jim was a loving father to his children, a loving grandfather to his grandchildren and a devoted husband to his wife Linda. Jim will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Sierra View Mortuary, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA 95961. Services will be held at Sierra View Mortuary, on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 11 am. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle Church, 5286 Feather River Boulevard, Marysville CA 95901.
