Citrus Heights, California – Lois passed away on March 21, 2021 at home. She was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and William Ahrendt, her husband of 55 years Wilfred N. Nelson, her brothers Don, Leo, and Ronald, her sisters Dorothy, Clara, Carol, and Maxine. Lois was born in South Dakota in 1922.
After her marriage she and Wilfred lived in South Dakota, Illinois, Nebraska and California finally settling in the Sacramento area. Lois is survived by her children Karen E. Nelson (Dennis) and Joan L. Kniffen (Gary); 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Lois is also survived by her brother Russell Ahrendt (Iowa) and her sister Marian Zambon (South Dakota) as well as various nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family. Celebration
of Life to be held at a later date in the Spring. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org/norcal).
