Yolanda Garcia Obituary
Yolanda Maldonado Garcia, age 84 passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 1, 2026
in Marysville, California. She was born on September 17, 1941 in Acambaro, Guanajuato,
Mexico. At the age of 9 she arrived in America to live with her sister Alicia and her sister’s
husband Hector. She went on to graduate from Marysville High School, the first in her family to
graduate high school. She was later crowned the first queen for the local Mexican Charros
(Cowboys) Association. During her reign as queen and for years after she represented the
Mexican Charros Association riding sidesaddle horseback in many local parades and rodeos. For
many years she helped in her family’s business, The Flamingo Club in downtown Marysville. It
was there that she met her husband Luis. They married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Marysville on January 21, 1967. They settled in Yuba City, California and raised their two
children Luis Jr. and Lisa there. Sadly they lost two babies Michael and Veronica.
For 20 years Yolanda worked as a housekeeper for the Berg Estate in Yuba City. After working as
a housekeeper she became a caregiver to numerous children of friends and family members.
She also was a caregiver to her Mother Francisca.
Yolanda was known for always being fashionable, fully accessorized, with hair and makeup done
beautifully. She had a love for photography, always had a camera in her hand. Yolanda enjoyed
tending to her many plants, caring for her animals and decorating her home with antiques. She
was an avid collector of angel figurines and statues. She loved to travel with her family, taking
many roadtrips. She loved to make friends and enjoyed conversation. She loved celebrations,
parties and events. She always enjoyed good food, music, and dancing. She had a deeply strong
faith and prayed everyday. She loved her many friends and extended family members dearly.
Yolanda was most devoted to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a long
beautiful life and will be dearly missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Garcia, her daughter Veronica Garcia, her
mother Francisca Arreguín Albor, her sister Alicia Sandoval, and her brother Daniel Vazquez. She
is survived by her husband of 59 years Luis O. Garcia, her son Luis O.Garcia Jr. and his wife Lisa,
her daughter Lisa Jimenez and her husband Francisco, her grandsons Michael Basso, Francisco
Jimenez Jr. and his wife Brianna, Alejandro Jimenez, Cristian Jimenez, Sebastian Jimenez, and
Cruz Jimenez. Also a large extended family including many nieces and nephews.
