Dean was always my favorite cousin. He was born only six months before me, and we played together often until my family moved to Southern California. As teenagers we remained close with Dean coming to visit in the summers. I will miss his voice, his wonderful laugh, and the way I felt when we were together. He lived a remarkable life and leaves a big hole in the world.

I have the privilege of being a preschool teacher, honored to have taught both of Dean's precious grandchildren. His occasional visits to pick up his grandchildren were a delight. He had a terrific sense of humor and his unconditional love for and genuine delight at seeing his young Hami and Thea will forever live in my memory. I know he inspired their love of rhythm and music and his memory will be cherished forever. Rest in Peace. Love to all the family, Ms Dorothy (St Lukes Preschool,Woodland)

Dean helped me so much as a band director teaching choir. His knowledge, compassion and sincere love for the students was evident. I always received hints and tips to use, whether he was our honor choir guest director or our adjudicator at festivals. My sincere condolences to Christy, Adrian and the rest of the family.
