Lorene McDaniel Journey passed away peacefully at her home in Sutter, California, on October 31, 2025, at the age of 97.

She was born on November 25, 1927, in Warner, Oklahoma, to Lonard and Minnie McDaniel. She was one of nine children.

She married Lonnie Doyle Journey on June 27, 1945, in Yuba City, California. They celebrated 80 years of marriage in June 2025.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Corene Curt; sisters Mildred McDaniel, Lillian Long, Mabel Clark, and Mary Jane Nelson; brothers Connie and Tom McDaniel; granddaughter Kimberly Hensley; and great-grandson Joshua Hensley.

She is survived by her husband of 80 years, Lonnie Doyle Journey; sister Joyce Ann Upton; sister-in-law Marlene McDaniel; daughters Beverly Applegarth and husband Bob, Linda Renison and husband Larry, and Debbie Blackmon and husband Dennis; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren, with another one on the way.
